Go with a Fender or Gibson, great sound a competitive prices. The resale is also great..There is a older company named "Kay" that made some good guitars as well

Here’s the new hit from Fender. A Chinese made pine bodied Tele that absolutely shines in terms of build quality, sound and playability. And it’s cheap too. Everyone should have one! I changed the pickuard to a single ply white to get that mid 50’s look.
