What Are Some Reasons to Own a Fender Telecaster?

I’ve really been interested in this guitar for awhile, but want to know some pros and cons of owning it.

Thanks guys!

PROS:

- The Telecaster is a solid design. There’s not much you can break on it.
- The Telecaster has a bright and lively tone, due to the single coil pickups. The tone dials and blade selectors let you get a wide variety of sounds.
- The Telecaster’s simple bolt-on construction makes it a lot less expensive than other higher end guitars. You can get a real Fender Telecaster for about $500, thousands of dollars less than any Gibson branded Les Paul.

CONS:
- The pickups can hum a little, since they aren’t hum canceling. I replaced mine with noiseless pickups.
- No whammy bar like the Strat. I never use that, so it doesn’t bother me any.
